Planning Timeline

October 2, 2007 – February 4, 2008

• Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is available for the public to review and submit comments to the planning team.
• Public outreach and involvement opportunities for the Draft EIR include airport tours, and community meetings.

April 2008

• Airport Authority launches the Destination Lindbergh long-term planning process in partnership wtih the City of San Diego and SANDAG.

May 2008

• Airport Authority Board certifies and adopts the Final EIR for short-term improvements to Lindbergh Field.

February 2009

• Destination Lindbergh Ad Hoc Regional Airport Policy Committee presents final Lindbergh Field concept and financial plan to stakeholders.

2009 - 2010

• Construction begins on new facilities.

2012

• New gates, facilities, parking and improvements open to the public.
